Caroline Morales Takes the Helm at MLK Academy

Caroline Morales has been selected as the next principal of Martin Luther King Jr. Academy, effective July 1. She currently is assistant principal at Lafayette High School. 

Previously, Morales taught physics in Fairfield, Connecticut, before joining Fayette County Public Schools as a math and science teacher at STEAM Academy. She also taught probability and statistics and served as an interventionist at Bryan Station High School.

“Tireless in her pursuit of student achievement and success, she has consistently demonstrated a commitment to fostering inclusive, data-driven, and supportive learning environments,” said Chief High School Leadership Officer Chris Salyers. “Dr. Morales’ extensive expertise in trauma-informed education, system development, and student-centered advocacy makes her the ideal leader to guide the Martin Luther King Jr. Academy community into a bright and successful next chapter.”

Morales holds a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University, a master’s degree in Math &  Science Education from Central Connecticut State University, a master’s degree in Educational Psychology & Technology from the University of Connecticut, an educational specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Kentucky, and a doctorate in Educational Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
